It's Almost Time!

Hike-A-Thon 2016 is right around the corner!  After taking a break from Hike-A-Thon last year, I'm ready to hit the trails again this August to support Washington Trails Association's efforts to protect and maintain trails across the state.  To learn more about Hike-A-Thon, check out the info tab of this blog.

In the past, I've set lofty mileage and fundraising goals, but this year I've decided to focus on quality over quantity.  Of course, I'll still try to raise as much money as I can for WTA, but I'm not going to stress about hitting a certain dollar amount.  And of course, I'll still hike as much as I can, but August is shaping up to be a busy month work-wise, so I'm going to focus on hiking the trails that really interest me rather than hiking just to get miles in.  With that said, the one goal I am setting for myself this Hike-A-Thon is to mostly hike trails that have been on my wish list for a while, but for one reason or another, I haven't gotten around to hiking yet.  The list includes (in no particular order):

  • Gothic Basin (08/10/16)
  • Perry Creek (08/01/16)
  • Green Mountain
  • Sauk Mountain (I hiked this trail partway but turned back due to weather/trail conditions.)
  • Yellow Aster Butte (I also hiked this trail partway but turned back due to weather/trail conditions.)
  • Anderson-Watson Lakes (08/03/16)
  • Hidden Lake Lookout
  • Colchuck Lake
  • Lake Ingalls
Be sure to check back throughout August to follow along as I tackle this list! If you want to get a jumpstart on donating, you can do so here.
